Make that a double WOW! some people must have more money than sense
As much of a Bowie fan that I am, I would or could never part with money like that.
But I would love to see it in a museum.

I don't think that I could part with that kind of money on something like that, even though it is a cool acetate . I have got Bryan Ferry's personal acetate of the 1975 Roxy Music album 'Siren' which is signed and labled by Ferry, I bought this directly from a guy who worked for Roxy Music from 1972-1981, had some great conversations with him aswell about the band.

How cool is that! I wonder what Mr Ferry ever thought of Mr Bowie as a performer and as an individual? do you know of any insights please?
I would find it fascinating.

I'm pretty sure there's a bit in Strange Fascination about this in the 19724 chapter or something like that; at the least there are comments from an interview David Buckley did with Bryan Ferry in there.

Actually most of that chapter is spent talking about Roxy Music's own position as a Glam group, but there is a quotation later on, from 1999:
'There doesn't ever seem to be any self-doubt with Bowie and this is to be commended. He seems to be very good at getting the best out of himself. I'm always riddled with doubts and self-criticism.'
There was also a brief mention that Bowie telephoned Ferry just prior to Pinups, when they were both working on cover albums, so they appear friendly enough.
Well, I cried for you - now it's your turn to cry a while

Thanks very much for that Matt, I own both Pinups and These Foolish Things, both are very good cover albums and far better than any issued today IMO.
How nice that he telephoned him like that, the perfect gentleman as ever.

In saying that, as far as actual covers to albums go? Pinups beats this sickly Alvin Stardust image

I wonder if the phone conversation to mr. Ferry had anything in it about the cover of 'Ladytron' which was recorded for Pinups but later was dropped and to this day un-released and un-heard. I would love so much to hear it!
