ISO: Yahoo 2000 video new

I have the two tracks(Mars? & WatW) by Bowie and Garson on a comp cd and love them a great deal.

I've recently wondered if these tracks have turned up in collectors circles in video format. This gig was filmed and given a webcast. Webcasts by other artists have slipped onto video collections(U2 Notre Dame 2001 etc) in near perfect video quality. I'm quite curious since this is virtually the only appearance Bowie has done as a piano duet and should have great interest from collectors. It's also a very strong and inspired performance from Bowie.

I think Bowie also sported a post Glastonbury haircut that has only appeared on this video. Cropped shortly aBove his chin.

Has anybody here heard anything about this performance. I had do a great deal of homework to find the a god quality CD version of the track. I'd realy like to SEE the performance.

I am glad you've come around to this performance, Peter.

I can tell you that I recently supplied a copy of the audio performance to Mike Garson who had not heard it since that webcast you speak of.

On conversation with him in Australia, Garson was REALLY impressed, particularly with Wild is the Wind.

We also spoke a bit about a forthcoming album.

That is my recollection also.

Do you really have CD quality version(s)? I would love to get hold of that.

I regret saying this, but I actually do have CD quality version of both songs. I don't have a working burner at the moment, so they will only stay in my collection.

I got them from a TWer called "rimmie" a couple years ago. Though he's dropped out of Bowie circles for some time, and didn't answer my last two emails, i did see his name appear on the "who's online" thing last week.

Givem him an pm and see what he has available. I found the quality of his stuff unbelievable, I have to pay for it. Some CDR traders frown on this for some reason.

What, you just gonna leave us hanging?

If you don't have anything nice to say, go to London and say it in front of 2000 people. NM.

Loyalty means this won't happen, but... new [re: Adam]

This thread got me wondering if Garson would do a piano background to some of the vocal only hours tracks.

Wouldn't that be interesting.

PS Has the full video or audio of 1999 Sorytellers ever turned up? There are some exclusive performances that were never aired. The only known live version of TPTAGTH with Reevz on guitar was played at this show. (I never liked the other '99 version of this song with Page Hamilton on guitar, and I think Slick played the song in 2000) There's also the only known TV version of I Can't Read remake.(95% sure of this)
