Newly discovered Serious Moonlight concert date?

I found this while trolling through my ticket stub collection. All tour documentation says only 1 show happened at BC place, but I have 2 different tickets.

What's odd is that the ticket isn't a misprint because both have the correct day of the week listed. The onsale date is also different on each ticket(both are GA floor tickets) One ticket is from a regular fan(ripped corner) and the other is from someone connected to the "industry" at the time(perfect condition).

Do I have a one of a kind collectable??

Sounds like an interesting ticket Pete.

From what I found there was only the one show so maybe it was a miss print that didn't make it out????

If you checked it out with Paul Kinder from BWW as I know he is pretty good with ticket details and the like.

How have you been btw?

Since the "misprint ticket" is from an inside source I assume the concert date was tentative information that got out. I'm sure promoters booked 2-3 dates in some of these cities to gauge public interest and to see how final tour routing was realised.

What I find odd is that if this ticket was from '74 fans would be freaking out big time. There is still some dates and venues that need cataloguing from tours previous to 1975. I'm STILL waiting for the Ziggy Seattle date to be listed at the Paramount Theater. Nobody seems willing to fix this fact.

There are things called libraries that contain things called newpaper reviews on things called microfiche if you're really interested in finding out if there was indeed one concert or two.

A very good buddy of mine was in Vancouver at the time and attended a concert with Gabriel and the Tubes, but I only heard about one such concert.

Re: Newly discovered Serious Moonlight concert dat new [re: globule2]

There was only one BC Place concert. No major touring act has ever done consecutive concerts in Alberta, then one in Vancouver because of travel. I'm just wondering why I have a misprinted ticket. One can also tell it's a misprint because of the order of the opening acts are switched.

It was one show, because if there were 2, we'd have arbee bragging about seeing them.

Your first post in this thread read as if you were contending that there were two August shows, which is what Paul Kinder appears to have concluded over at BWW. He's got a ticket there for the Monday as well, but without "BC Place" on it.

I recall coming across another missing date but this time from the 78 tour.

There is some evidence of a second Sydney show (at the showgrounds) in 1978 but I will need to double check my sources to see if that was really the case. The date was the 25th of November as you can see by scrolling to the bottom of the BDU page here but there is no evidence for this at TW.

The TW tour section has a Vancouver province review of the show. It was one show on a Tuesday (Aug. 9th)evening.

Peter Gabriel new [re: bowiefanpeter]

I'd really love to see some setlists for these shows - including the Peter Gabriel numbers. It's a shame they never joined each other on stage (as far as I know) as was the case with The Angels who apparantly sang 'Rebel Rebel' with Bowie at the MCG in 78.

The ellusive second Sydney date has been confirmed by BDU members.

August 7, Edmonton - Stadium
August 9, Vancouver - BC Place
August 11, Tacoma - Tacoma Dome

These dates are correct, and yes BFP, I was at all three. The real gem on that particular week was seeing Gabriel at The Paramount on August 10 between the Vancouver show(Peter Gabriel & The Tubes) and the Tacoma(The Tubes only) show.

Seeing Peter Gabriel and David Bowie share a stage would make me scream like a little girl. I'm serious.

They can do a mash-up of both singing their own seperate versions of "slow burn".
