I don't really like the work of Let's Dance or Scary Monsters. But in your point of saying that 1976 and on is some of his best work, I definately agree. I love Station to Station and Low (is that '77?), I saw Low in Borders' Bookstore today, But I didn't have enough time to get a copy.
Perhaps I should have specified 1976-1982 (aka Station To Station 'till the little-known Baal EP). Low is indeed a magnificient album, although I personally prefer "Heroes" by a slight margin. I would certainly get those two first before buying PinUps. But that's just me.

"the covers album by which all others shall be judged"
I've always given that title to Bryan Ferry's These foolish things. Pinups has it's moments but few of the songs featured are as good as the originals.

Okay. I have Station to Station, so yeah. Uhh.. there's this really cool place in America called Record and Tape Traders my dad just told me about, and you go there to trade... well... records and tapes! My dad also tells me they had all sorts of David Bowie stuff (OLDIES!)... like different versions and stuff. The worst part is, they're used. But I imagine they'd be in good condition, because I wouldn't expect an eight year old to have a David Bowie CD or record... in fact none of his stuff!

I mean, i have used Bowie records in my collection. I have a beautiful first edition of David live on really heavy vinyl with inner sleeves.
