PinUps album????

I don't know where to find the Pinups album, and I really want it because I hear it's so good. I don't like buying things online because of shipping/handling, so does anybody know where I could find David's older albums?

All of Bowie's albums (except from the self-titeled album) have been reissued on CD during the last five years. You should have no trouble finding it in stores.

And also, I think most people here will agree that PinUps is anything but good.

Where in the world are you, if in the UK try Play.com, good prices and free postage, I use them a lot.

I love Pinups, some great arrangements by a classic band.

Believe everything I say, especially the lies.

Most online sellers have lowered prices anyway, so shipping makes items comparably priced to going to a local store with insane markup. And if you get more than $25 in merchandise from Amazon they ship the whole thing for free, so pick another CD or movie or book you want and get them at the same time with no shipping cost added !

Re: PinUps album???? new [re: Sysiyo]

so you are addressing the lp that has been called "the covers album by which all others shall be judged" as one that is considered crap around here? Newsflash sissie-yo, aynsley dunbar is on of rock's all-time greatest drummers! See Emily play is a classic worthy of appearance on ANY bowie album, just for dunbar's drumming alone.(never mind the grandoise arrangement).
I for one do not want to be spoken for by self assuming know-it alls who do not know a pin-up from a blow-up doll.
they just want me to be quiet...something is going to be heard!

You're missing the rest of the quote which reads "as infinitely better".

Even if that were true, the drumming is the least of the problems with that album.

It is admittedly one of the better tracks but most of the others are fairly forgettable.

I am in the UK, and I have never heard of play.com. I'll try it! I also looked it Circut City (while in America) for it and all they had was Aladdin Sane (which I ended up buying), Diamond Dogs, 2 versions of Ziggy Stardust, and Reality.
In my opinion, I think Aladdin Sane is one of the best LP's David made.... if anybody disagrees PLEASE don't scream at me! (I also go to BowieWonderWorld and they all scream at me for my opinions.)

HOW DARE YOU SAY ALADDIN SANE IS BOWIE'S BEST LP!!!

Joking. Actually, I do agree, Aladdin Sane is a very good LP, probably his best recorded before 1976. From 1976 onwards we've got the period of Bowie's work I consider to be the best.

I don't really like the work of Let's Dance or Scary Monsters. But in your point of saying that 1976 and on is some of his best work, I definately agree. I love Station to Station and Low (is that '77?), I saw Low in Borders' Bookstore today, But I didn't have enough time to get a copy. it was very dissapointing for me, I was almost in tears!

Perhaps I should have specified 1976-1982 (aka Station To Station 'till the little-known Baal EP). Low is indeed a magnificient album, although I personally prefer "Heroes" by a slight margin. I would certainly get those two first before buying PinUps. But that's just me.

I've always given that title to Bryan Ferry's These foolish things. Pinups has it's moments but few of the songs featured are as good as the originals.

Okay. I have Station to Station, so yeah. Uhh.. there's this really cool place in America called Record and Tape Traders my dad just told me about, and you go there to trade... well... records and tapes! My dad also tells me they had all sorts of David Bowie stuff (OLDIES!)... like different versions and stuff. The worst part is, they're used. But I imagine they'd be in good condition, because I wouldn't expect an eight year old to have a David Bowie CD or record... in fact none of his stuff!
