Ziggy Stardust - music played at gigs
|
|
|
I have a question about the music played before and after Bowie left the stage at the Ziggy Stardust shows...
I know that an excerpt of Beethoven's 9th Symphony (more commonly known as the Clockwork Orange Theme) was played, but does anyone know which movement of the symphony was used?
Also, what other music was played in the auditorium before and after the shows?
please help!

To my understanding they used the version by Wendy (or Walter?) Carlos from A Clockwork Orange soundtrack.

and this is where I remind you that Kraftwerk used the same music to open their 1981 shows.
I have been here for too long.
-Why don't you write a song called 'Vicious'? -What kind of vicious, Andy? -You know, like I hit you with a flower.

This is where I say: 'damn, should have remembered that!'
Now that we are on the subject, was the same music used on the 1991 tour?

Dylan has used classical music to open his shows. He's done so at least a decade or two.
Elvis used live classical music in the early 70's.
