Best Sound & Vision Bootleg
|
|
|
Hi there,
I recently got hold of the Montreal bootleg from 1990, but the sound quality isn't as good as I was expecting.
Can anyone recommend me a really good show from 1990 to get - in terms of sounds quality and performance?
(Preferably with Adrian Belew's guitar as loud as possible, and the keyboards as quiet as possible !)
Cheers, Ad

There is a good DVD of Tokyo 90, and Milton Keynes was an FM broadcast. The rehearsal tapes are good too.

I've got Milton Keynes (the complete show). Good quality, but of coruse that doesn't make up for the shitty arrangements and performances.

Way too small a band, relies too much on pre-programmed syths (apparently Rick Fox would have a walkman, listening to other music ) and one totally bored singer. Easily Bowie's worst tour ever. Some of the visuals were good though.

Hey Sys I was at that concert and I had a lousy seat but as Alan says the 1990 Toyko DVD and CD boot are very good.
I don't think his heart was in it on that so called goodbye hits tour.

I like Belew, but the fact that he considers Sound + Vision the best tour he's ever been on makes me worry that he's a few froot loops short of a balanced breakfast.

milton keynes - simple as that. There is another good one from Paris but MK is better - full on FM stereo!

Yes, it was live on Radio 1 with and exclusive interview before the concert, they broadcast the whole thing including Beethoven's 9th.

Wonderful and commercial free, as I've mentioned Alan I was at the concert but in a lousy seat and missed this broadcast and interview So I take it you have this on CD?
I can remember the night / s previous viewing an interview he gave for MTV ( wasn't even broadcast here then ) I think I saw it on a Johnath King programe? It was like a countdown with famous singers etc...
