Rare Bowie items

In recent months i've decided to get some of my rarest Bowie stuff framed up and preserved for a longer period. The two items that i've done just recently have been the following items. The first is an original tour poster from the 1978 Australian tour of the Brisbane show. I picked it up at a garage sale in 1995 for about $10 with a few marks here and there otherwise it has held up well. The second item is a framed set of ticket stub, tour shirt and tour book fromt eh 1978 Oz tour plus a Dutch 7" BLUE vinyl of Breaking Glass.

I was wondering if any of you guys have seen any of these items about? I know the tour book is a bit common but I was under the impression that the shirt and poster were harder to find.

Any thoughts on these items?

This would make a great thread to show off our rare Bowie items.

Did you dry mount the poster?

From memory I understand it was dry mounted. Not 100% sure on that. I also got the fancy fade proof glass used as well.

I'm not sure what I should do with them yet...hang or store them? I've got some other items as well i'm looking at getting done. I have an original 1983 movie poster for ZS motion picture and some other nice 70's tour posters as well.

Re: Rare Bowie items new [re: diamondogz74]

I forget what it is called exactly but it is special glass used to protect ur gear from the sun and light. The poster cost about $400 AUS to get done and the other stuff cost about $600 AUS.

They had much cheaper options but they looked like cheap options too and you can't cut corners with Bowie stuff :)

Thanks for the special glass info, Im going to have to find out about that, I have one of the orginal The Man Who Fell To Earth cinema posters from 1976 and Im hoping to have that framed properly one day.

I have seen cheap Bowie items on ebay and I agree cutting corners is a waste of money.

Plus it ruins the posters.

Re: Rare Bowie items new [re: Diamond_Dave]

Hmm... Perhaps I should do that with MY ZS movie poster as well... I also have an ISOLAR '76 Tour Program and an extremely interesting piece of artwork of Bowie in "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence." I am still puzzled by its origin.

As for records... I believe I have that blue Dutch single, actually. I've thought of doing something with my special edition "Bowie and Bing" single... or that ZS Movie Soundtrack in clear vinyl... Dang, I have a large collection, to tell you the truth.

My musical stuff is fun, because I like musics; they are very good and nice. On a lighter note, I made gingerbread! Yay! So, anyhow, yeah. I NEED A NAP! Hoo boy, David Bowie is the bee’s knees.
