Just what it says on the tin. It is a third party remix, a bit like what appeared on the Club Bowie CD. That is, remixes by a club dj.
So it's not an official release then? have you heard it Alan and is it any good.

No, all the official releases are listed on http://www.illustrated-db-discography.nl/ I haven't heard it and it is more the work of the remixer than the artist, so I have no real interest either. Most remixes of this nature work better in a club than at home.

I've got this vinyl too. I don't think it's a boot, because MELODIA, this disc's label, has released some other stuff, not only Bowie's, and the sleeve has got a sticker with the price on it (apparently from 1989) - 25000z³...but I may be wrong.
Anyway, it doesn't seem like an "ultra rare" disc. It may be rare, 'cos it was supposedly spread only into the communist countries, and probably not so many copies were pressed - but there's no information to confirm this (maybe it's on the other side of the sleeve, but I don't know Russian)

That's what I think, Pablo says it's a third party remix, but that doesn't automactically mean it's a boot ( I think? ) I've seen the MELODIA before and have posted a Russsian Bowie album in this thread, you'll have to scroll up to find it.

I think Xavery was talking about the Russian album, not the 12" remix. Melodia is a well known Russian label, they released some strange Beatles albums in Russia too. They aren't bootlegs, and they aren't official, they are in a grey murky area inbetween.

Um, yes, I was. Anyway, I think you're right with the "grey murky area" - the sound quality on this disc (i'd give it at least an EX) is noticeably lower than on traditional RCA Victor vinyls.
When we're into RCA Victor - I've also got the first UK pressing of "ChangesOneBowie" (with the sax version of "John, I'm Only Dancing") and "Low" with a tracklisting on a sticker.

Trust me to be confused anyway thanks Alan for putting this matter straight, I do find that grey murky area inbetween rather fascinating.
