Lock of Bowie's Hair from 1974 (on Ebay) [re: ]

Current bid: US $35.00 (approximately 25.11)

End time: 31-Jan-09 12:43:40 GMT (3 days 14 hours)

MANY YEARS AGO, I ATTENDED A RECORD CONVENTION IN NEW YORK CITY. THERE WAS A RECORD DEALER SELLING THIS UNUSUAL ITEM THAT I COULDN'T RESIST BUYING. THIS GENTLEMAN CLAIMED TO HAVE CUT BOWIE'S HAIR DURING THE DIAMOND DOGS TOUR IN OCTOBER OF 1974. HE THEN COLLECTED THE HAIR AND DIVIDED IT UP INTO SMALL PLASTIC BAGS AND ATTACHED THEM TO A PAPER WITH THE MAINMAN LOGO WITH A HAND WRITTEN NOTE. THERE IS ALSO A PHOTOCOPY OF A PICTURE OF THIS GUY CUTTING HIS HAIR. I CAN'T VERIFY THE AUTHENTICITY OF THIS, BUT I SURE FOUND IT INTERESTING ENOUGH TO GET IT. PLEASE E MAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS.

Fourteen bids so far.

Wouldn't the reddish dye have faded somewhat by now? (Perhaps?)

A box of virtual Maltesers for anyone with the temerity to ask which body zone the hair was extracted from.

My niceness is another quality others do not now know to handle.

The important part would be the ransom you could hold on his hair from the man himself. I'm surprised there aren't any used cigarette butts, too.

I can put it next to my collection of bowie cig butts from the earthling tour that were given to fans during the shows.

It would be hilarious to take a few hairs to a drug lab and see if it's decared a biohazard.

I went to a restaurant that serves 'breakfast at any time'. So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.

Was this purchased by guiltpuppy?

It could go alongside the cast of Bowie's head ... or maybe on it.
