Seems like Bandit's writing has inspired something in all of us.
Edit: Well, I guess I will ruin the comic simplicity of my original statement. Wasn't it funny?
This may sound strange, but it's not really the sexual element of this that bothers me. Despite the general consensus of our society, I think that most 14 year olds are capable of making decisions about their bodies. Obviously with adulthood comes a better grasp on the dynamics of human relationships. And older people are generally better equipped (not always) to deal with relationships. A 14 year old is not sailing utterly blindly! But this whole "love" thing that's being discussed is what is troubling. As Sedna said, people that age are very easily deludeded by an older person and this sounds like the perfect set-up for eventual emotional devastation. If they were just like, "I'm willing to try having a friendship and if something more comes of it, then that's okay by me." That would be more acceptable in my mind.
And as Sedna said, in such situations, the whole concept of "consent" becomes very abstract and is on shaky ground because of pressure and percieved pressures.
But really now. Who else here thinks that KellyJean is in fact an undercover cop?
So I carried the boat of incense then at Clongowes. I am another now and yet the same.
