As many of you may already know, Radiohead have a new album called In Rainbows. It has no label, instead being sold by the band direct from their website as a digital download (starting Oct. 10th) and as a deluxe superboxset w/ both CDs and LPs, shipping in early December.

Obviously I'm coming out my skin not only to hear it, but to see how this business model might work for what is arguably the biggest band on the planet. I'm sure that the sales will take a huge hit, but without the 10,000 strong middlemen of EMI taking a bite, I wonder if the net profits for the band would be stabilized.

I really hope this works.
