you make it sound like people are scoping out the quality of messageboards like they would scope out the quality of a college they're interested in.

i just don't understand what the big deal is. it's a just a damn messageboard. and if everything were deep and intellectual all the time, then that'd get pretty fucking annoying too. in my opinion the idiotic anonymous posters and the smart, quality posters even each other out in the end.

if you really insist on being uptight about it though, then i think that you, twister, have the best suggestion. have adam, being the moderator, choose his favorite five threads for the day and have those listed where hot topics are now. sounds fair to me.
