You make it sound like I'm pure evil. Weren't you around when I blessed the board with my Mimi pictures? I'm a sweetheart! Anyway, my main problem with the birthday threads is that they often feel forced. Also, every birthday thread tends to turn into a contest of who can deliver the funniest birthday wish, which makes the whole thing even more forced.
Another thing to consider here is those who don't get happy birthday threads dedicated to them. Feel their pain, anisette! This is the Jesus in me talking, and I think it's a good point.
I really don't think what I said is equal to ripping up a birthday card in the face of the person who just handed it to me. I did say I was very flattered and that beatled was (is) very lovely and I think I thanked all the people who wished me a happy birthday from the bottom of my heart. I just think that, now that I've had my birthday thread, we should stop.
But there's no need for me to try to convince you anisette. This has been settled already. Mr. TW has expressed his point of view on this issue, so it's just a matter of time before all the birthday threads are locked and a warning sign is put up under IMPORTANT: saying birthday thread starters will be banned.
