Anyway, my main problem with the birthday threads is that they often feel forced Also, every birthday thread tends to turn into a contest of who can deliver the funniest birthday wish, which makes the whole thing even more forced. -----------------------------------------------
You said this. This is your opinion. Meaning you feel forced. I don't know how many others you may think you speak for when you say this, but I, for one, never feel forced to give someone a happy birthday greeting in public, and even less so on the internet. If you are the one feeling forced, perhaps YOU should avoid birthday threads altogether, instead of the whole of teenagewildlife.com who may feel utterly differently. So far you and p2c are the only people that have problems with it.
----------------------------------------------- Another thing to consider here is those who don't get happy birthday threads dedicated to them. Feel their pain, annisette! -----------------------------------------------
Now now, I also disagree with that point. I don't know anyone that has been utterly disappointed that they had no birthday thread. These blessed threads only go to the most popular of posters, and popularity is definately not something everyone can acheive. Popularity is also a relative term I might add, to somewhat contradict myself. I have never in my existance at TW gotten a birthday thread dedicated to me.. This may be because TW always malfunctions and never puts the day of my birthday down on the mainpage, but hey - maybe not. And I am okay with this. So again, maybe this is just you.
Lastly, I just want to say that this was by no means an attack on your person, I just wanted to lay down my points as well,. -- star
