I honestly don't think that the death knell of the board can be attributed to one individual, however ubiquitous
Perhaps not, but I'm not exactly pronouncing TW dead just yet. I was referring to posters like the recently-returned anisette, who has explicitly stated that Dogz' ubiquity played a large role in her disinterest in the boards. I'd be surprised if she were the only one.

The anons successfully ruined the coffee shop when they were allowed to post, and let's be honest, most of them anons were quite likely registered users, who hid in the halflight of anonymity.
Possibly, but I sort of doubt that the most offensive anons were regular posters. Not really any way to tell. Regardless, the ruination-through-saturation effect is the same in both cases; why support a ban on anonymous drivel and not support one on drivel attributed to a single person?

Anthony, sometimes you do need to filter your posts, about 25% of my posts never make it to the board and that is probably too few. When I write a post, before I press send, I look at it and decide whether or not it is going to move the conversation along.
Sensible advice, surely. Tragically, some variation of this suggestion has been offered to Dogz about 3 times a week for the last year, and he hasn't so much as made an effort to listen, to the point now where he wears his ubiquity and idiocy as a badge of pride.

One further point for anyone who doesn't like Anthony, if you are annoyed with him, ignore him, if you attack him, he is going to respond, if you ignore him, he has nothing to respond to. Sounds like common sense to me.
Would that it were true, but as you can see from perusing any random thread, he needn't be directly addressed to post anything. Not that one needs permission to enter a conversation, but when your contribution amounts to "I've never heard of that, what is it?" or "I agree" - well, 30 posts a day of that, across every forum, is nearly impossible to ignore.
I don't really like the idea of banning anyone, and I almost forget about it right up until I come across yet another pointless post. All I'm saying is that we (TW) have been cutting him too much slack for much too long, and for him to continue to throw the moderators' charity back in their faces is an insult.
