Surely their "greatness" would have them stick around in the attempt to make this place "great" once again and lesser mortals such as ddz74 would feel disorientated & finally fuck off
True to an extent, though perhaps 'blame' is a little too strong. I've commented before that I would keep up continuous posting regardless of the quality of the boards if only I had the free time. (I think the 'Is TW for People Who Don't Have Sex?' thread concluded that holding down a full time job was particularly injurious in this regard, though apparently for not all posters.*) I joined TW because I was interested in interacting on the message board, *not* to strike up personal relationships with posters – something I was originally quite against, for that would be really desperate and lonely – though inevitably I became friendly with some people and now I 'waste' time that could be spent posting ('waste' in the sense if I'd stuck to my original plan) in emailing and keeping relationships alive elsewhere.
And yes, those who remain dedicated to the site for years are far more likely to achieve a 'greatness' . . . for what its worth. Basically, to become a hero in any enclosed community like this is to simply become a mainstay. Dara and Monkeyboy strike me as likely to stick to the site to its bitter end, partly because of the length of time they've been here already, and partly because they're willing to reply to anybody's posts, whether it be yourself or Charlie Manson.** Naturally, with their regular interaction they attract people with similar ideas and humour and, quite rightly, over the course of time they become quite good at it and gain the recognition they deserve within the community they've created.
Which I hope will go some way in explaining my position on the Dogz issue. Having bozoed him for months now, I can't say I notice his presence much on the board, even though he obviously interacts with others and gets quoted on a regular basis. I think the curiosity of 'what lies behind the bozo' is the downfall of many people who use it only in retaliation; they don't give it time to work. What was quoted of his parochial views on the 'bombing' threads aren't that far removed from the opinions of several other TWers, so for me his arguments blend into one indistinguishable entity that can be classified as the Idiot TWer. The fact they came from Dogz is irrelevant to how I read the boards. Basically, he can stay for all I care, he doesn't affect me directly, hence my 'abstention' in my previous post.
But then I should've prefaced that by saying my opinion should count very little on the issue of what should be done about him because I visit TW rarely and – more importantly – interact on TW even rarer. Ergo, I would tend to trust the views of someone like Marquis because he's super smart, he's been here for an eternity and posts a fair bit - that would be one way of knowing that it's like to interact with the poster in question - but again abstention is really the only option I can personally vouch for. I'm not sure, but I don't think that 'great' posters views carry any more weight on this issue.

Sporadic posts of conceit & negativity from former "great" posters are about as much use as tits on a fish to this or any other message board, so for the benefit of TW, contribute positively on a regular basis and if you don't like what you see, fuck off without comment
Agreed, but I'm worried about your constant sticking the word 'great' in quotation marks. Are you inferring that, despite numerous hints in my last post that I see myself now as little more than predominantly useless, and that despite somehow (hilariously) bluffing my way through to the semis of the Mr TW competition (which can be fun to reference occasionally just to explode the myth of what passes as 'great' posting in this place) that you think that *I* consider, or used to consider, myself 'great', or even anything barely above average?

I went into overload for a year and waffled a bit. Fuck you.
* See subject line for further details. ** I'll allow future contributors to this thread to delineate the precise differences between the two posters in question.
Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking when I said I’d like to smash every tooth in your head
