This election of new moderators would be like any "real" election. There would be a good number of nominees, and these nominees would then need to publicly declare what they stand for; what morals they hold, what they would (or wouldn't) do with their newly won power; how they will act as a moderator, what kind of actions they will take against, say, pornographic pictures, insults, chatting, etc.

Actually, I'm totally in favour of this idea. There's a really good chance this could fuck up TW beyond recognition, which if anything I'd far prefer to stagnation.

So, in theory, TW could elect a belligerent, trigger-happy despot who bans all Italians at the drop of a jockstrap? And we'd be stuck with them for a whole year? I'd vote for them.
