That may be the reason there isn't an avalanche of new members, but it probably isn't the reason the old contributers don't bother to post anymore. I'm a big Bowie fan, but I don't come here to check the news, I come here because it's entertaining. It used to be even more entertaining

That might just be down to you "old contributers" running out of interesting things to say. Even the liveliest party gets dull after a while if nobody new arrives. And the way the culture here seems to have developed, even if or when new contributers do come along, they'd probably find it too much of a hassle to break into the cliques and get bored when all anyone can think to say to them is "Hmmm, which regular's alter ego are you?".

If you want to point fingers, it's better to point them at those that don't post than those that do.
