...which no one did, but...
My take is this: One of the reasons the site has been successful is that we haven't had to resort to horrible free shit like EZ Board. And we haven't had to 'cause Evan pays the bill, and he continues to pay the bill even though he's not active. So I say the less we remind him that he's not really involved any more, the better.

But I think that if we move we will lose more people in the process than we actually gain. Call me a pessimist, but I see the chances of Daddy going through another Earthling period, popularity-wise, declining exponentially as he gets older.
Bingo. The site had its heyday when Daddy was attracting new (young) fans via his Earthling work and tours. They came here looking for more info, made things exciting for us old fucks, and left when Bowie no longer kept their fleeting attention spans.
The problem isn't that the news isn't updated or that new members can't register, it's that there isn't enough news to attract interesting new members to get actively involved to create the mass interaction we had back then.
But TW's heyday was glorious, and as such, many of us that were involved in the heyday will come back every now and then. Not enough to take it back, but more than we'd go to a new site, I bet.
Oh yeah, one more thing:

Maybe the best thing is for Daddy to die because then he's sure to have a real upsurge in popularity - at least in the States.
So true, so true. I once started a thread about what will happen when Bowie dies, and I got raked over the coals for being evil and negative and morbid and even THINKING about such HORRIBLE things as Daddy's DEATH! Man, those were the days.
