Seriously though, I can't imagine naming a new mod (at this point in time) as being anything other then a backslapping, self-congratulatory gesture (heightened by the fact that K pretty much all but revealed who he wanted on board).

I meant to comment (facetiously) before that the only justification for a new appointee was that the Secret Mod forum was even deader than the boards, thus demanding new input.

That said, I think the best choice for a mod would probably be someone who is opinionated and has a good working knowledge of TW-style arguments, but who is willing to relinquish that in order to become a mod. By restricting suitable candidacies to ultra-polite, happy to help members, you're begging to employ someone of the sensibilities of Pablo.

Off topic: R/R, I also think that Stu would be a good choice, at least on a temporary basis. Why, just a few months ago, when I made a joke about his mother copulating with a hamster, my bozo count rocketed up to ten (from 2 or 3), although Stu himself did not reply and, I assume, took the gibe in typical humour and magnanimity. It was rather, presumably, the 6 or 7 other TWers who had had relations with his mother that were offended.
