Yes, I am wasting my time here. But TW’s death has left me needing a daily fix of Stupid. The comment sections of the national newspapers are exceptionally rich in this regard. I have the need for TW, but I’m no longer bound to Bowie.

I’ve found a neat message board that satirizes stories in the Daily Mail, for instance. For some reason it’s in google’s top hits for the Mail’s site, which is how I came across it. Essentially, it consists of people poking fun at stories/comments in the Mail. It’s a message board poking fun at a message board. So I get my fix of Stupid vicariously, in safe, hermetic quote boxes. Why do these people feel compelled to comment on other boards, with people and views they’d rather not encounter? Ostensibly, they scream LOSER but I’m not sure they are losers in the worst sense. They’re sort of like Pablo without the crap jokes and pedo facial hair. They are, in other words, losers in their late 30s/early 40s, and they definitely wear cardigans, but they’re good company.
