I meant to say that your argument did not refute Emil's general point about information-exchange sites favouring males and social-networking ones favouring females. For all I know, Emil is correct here. Rather, in the specific case of TW, your (I think correct) observation that the site may have retained more males because of their strong social networking (Mod assisted or not) means that Emil's point is not helpful for explaining TW's condition. There is a deeper and darker reason that we cannot identify …

Shelle was one reason why EJSunday and I never hit it off.
