DD is an amazing album that I can never really "get". I can get a grip around Ziggy and Hunky and most of the early (fantastic) work of Bowie, but DD has something unfinished or unarticulate that makes it so damn intrieging. It's interesting to see that 1.Outside is being critisised for being too much of a concept album, while DD is being dissed for failing to complete an original concept idea. Diamond Dogs is to me the album that points out what is to come later in the decade, with Low, Heroes and Lodger, and perhaps also all the way to 1. Outside. This is the album where Bowie really exells at lateral thinking, so to speak. And if the sound ages or some of the songs belongs to Ziggy, it doesn't matter. The fact is that we are discussing it over and over again, trying to get our minds around this wonderful piece of music. I even like Rock n'roll with me, and I try to take a foxy kind of stand while shouting it out in the shower!
