I consider it a flaw because Diamond Dogs is supposed to be a concept album... and I actually thought "Watch That Man" and "Drive In Saturday" DID have something to do with Aladdin Sane, although the album doesn't seem too much like a concept album anyway (I think it is, however - it just doesn't piece together all that brilliantly). "Watch That Man" is an introduction to the Aladdin Sane character - that man IS Aladdin Sane. He might be dangerous, or maybe they're saying, watch that man, something big is going to happen with him soon. As for Drive In Saturday, it just went to reveal the furthering tension between Aladdin Sane and the Jean Genie (did I interpret this whole thing wrong?). What I don't get is, we're made to feel sympathetic toward the female character in the beginning of the album, and by the end, we're supposed to hate her, because she was the "living end" of Aladdin Sane.
Ugh, this thread is about Diamond Dogs. Shall we continue somewhere else? There aren't a great deal of Aladdin Sane threads here. :\
