Bleeding obvious but...  

... I'm suprised no one has mentioned it....

The link between All The Madmen and the Beatles' Fool On The Hill

1. The title of both deal with mad/foolish people
2.They start with the same three words - Day after day
3. Both deal with someone who prefers to remain mad / foolish than become part of the sane world

and a bit contriived but...

4. The fool is on a hill, the madman is sent to a mansion cold and grey, Bowie's brother was sent to a mansion cold and grey called Cane Hill
