I only want to point out that your CAN'T associate it with the other songs: Bowie pointed out several times that he only wrote the music of it, not the lyrics which were written by Iggy Pop. And Iggy really had a Chinese girlfriend at the time, and later married her; by the way. So maybe you're right and that there's a double meaning in the song - a love reference and a drugs reference - but anyways, it's all Iggy's story, not Bowie's.
