Ziggy Stardust: 1. Five Years 2. Soul Love 3. Moonage Daydream 4. Starma 5. Velvet Goldmine 6. Lady Stardust 7. Star 8. Hang On To Yourself 9. Ziggy Stardust 10. John, I'm Only Dancing 11. Rock and Roll Suicide
Justification: I never was a big Suffragette City fan... Good song, but out of place. It Ain't Easy would have made a better rare track. Doesn't blow goats, like alot of posters say, but also out of place.
Aladdin Sane 1. Watch that Man 2. Aladdin Sane 3. Drive In Saturday 4. Panic In Detroit 5. Cracked Actor 6. Time 7. The Prettiest Star 8. All The Young Dudes 9. The Jean Genie 10. Lady Grinning Soul
Justification: I can't stand the Stone's cover, and All the Young Dudes from the Best of Bowie (first one) was recorded and intended as a ryko bonus track until the master got lost. As for The Jean Genie, I would have replaced it, though there was no replacement track.
Diamond Dogs 1. Future Legend 2. Diamond Dogs 3. Sweet Thing 4. Candidate 5. Sweet Thing (Reprise) 6. Rebel Rebel/Dodo 7. Candidate (alt/demo) 8. We Are the Dead 9. 1984 10. Big Brother 11. Chant of the Evercircling Skeletal Family
Justification: I dig the Sound and Vision set verson of Rebel Rebel spliced with Dodo. Rebel Rebel sounds better with the jumping guitars and the new vocal line. Rock and Roll with Me is also weak.
Hunky Dory 1. Changes 2. Oh! You Pretty Things 3. Supermen (alternate version) 4. Life On Mars? 5. Kooks 6. Quicksand 7. Bombers 8. Andy Warhol 9. Song For Bob Dylan 10. Queen Bitch 11. The Bewlay Brothers
Justification: I just don't dig Eight Line Poem or Fill Your Heart.
The Man Who Sold The World 1. The Width Of A Circle 2. All The Madmen 3. Black Country Rock 4. After All 5. Running Gun Blues 6. Saviour Machine 7. She Shook Me Cold 8. Holy Holy 9. The Man Who Sold The World
Justification: I chose to replace The Superman with Holy Holy (and boost it before Man Who Sold the World)simply because The Supermen I think would fit nicer on Hunky Dory. I love the Man Who Sold the World version as well, but I like how the Supermen on Hunky Dory would shift the sound of the album just a little bit, add a little something different to it. As for Holy Holy, I think it deserved to be on the album. Lightning Frightening does too, but I can't take any more tracks off this mostly perfect album.
Lodger 1. Fantastic Voyage 2. African Night Flight 3. Move On 4. Yassassin (Turkish for: Long Live) 5. Red Sails 6. D.J. 7. Look Back In Anger 8. Boys Keep Swinging 9. Repetition 10.I Pray Ole
Justification: You may remember Red Money from the FIRST time you heard it... WHEN IT WAS CALLED SISTER MIDNIGHT. Much better in my opinion, as is I Pray Ole
Scary Monsters 1. It's No Game (pt 1) 2. Up the Hill Backwards 3. Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) 4. Ashes to Ashes 5. Fashion 6. Teenage Wildlife 7. Scream Like a Baby 8. Kingdom Come 9. Because Your Young 10. Crystal Japan
Justification: I never was satisfied with It's No Game (pt. II) and I love Crystal Japan. Simple switch.
Tonight 1. Loving The Alein 2. Don't Look Down 3. This Is Not America 4. Tonight 5. Neighbourhood Threat 6. Blue Jean 7. Absolute Beginners 8. I Keep Forgettin' 9. Dancing With The Big Boys
Justification: God Only Knows and Tumble and Twirl just plain suck eggs. With the above tracklist, this album would jump much higher on my favourite Bowie albums list. Maybe #10 or so? As the World Falls Down would suck on this album... The Labyrinth Soundtrack is a seperate entity. Don't shatter my world like that.
As for Low I can't remove ANY song off of it, but I really really really want to put Some Are as the last track. Dammit Bowie, you made a perfect album.
Space Oddity, Station to Station, 'Heroes', and Pinups are just fine the way they are... Although Port of Amsterdam is lovely... I don't think it goes well with the rest of the more rocky covers. Same for Abdulamajid. Awesome, but it doesn't fit. As for Let's Dance, I'd do the same as everyone else did... Replace Shake It with Under Pressure. Young Americans I couldn't give a CRAP about honesly... Bah. Same goes for Never Let Me Down. Other than the few good songs that are already ON the record, nothing can save the remaining fodder tracks.
Sorry for my nasty seeming attitude. Neuklon has done a fine job of spacing me out for the rest of the night. I got a little mark-up happy too.
