None of my family were into Bowie, or had any of his albums, so I had to discover him myself. I bought Best Of 1969/74 and was hooked. Since then:
Dad (60)- only music he is into is fifties stuff, so he not interested, but at same time doesn't really care about some of Bowie's "gayness". Nice one Pa!
Mum (55)- She puts up with and now likes and knows quite a lot of his songs, through me. Her favourite songs of his are: I'm Afraid Of Americans and Let's Dance and even asked me to record Heathen (the album) onto a tape for her! Nice one Ma!
Brother (29) - Has a good appreciation for music, so respects and appreciates Bowie's output, but doesn't actively like a lot of his stuff. Although he did come with me to the Riverside Cinema screening (he loved Hallo Spaceboy!), and is going with me to the Isle Of Wight festival to see him this year. Nice one bro!
Rest of family - My Nan told all her neighbours about me sending a tape off to Star In Their Eyes - saying i was gonna be on telly as Bowie. Ermm yeah right! Nice one Nan!
Its about time I had a signature
