The re-recorded version of Space Oditty is indeed better than the original in my opinion too.

Though the re-recording is superb, for me it could never top the original; re-recordings seldom do. His voice is incredibly powerful on this version as indeed it is throughout the Scary Monsters album.

Ultimately, I'd say that his vocals peaked with Scary Monsters.
