It is not so bad when there is one or two big pictures per message, but when there is 5+ and then that is followed by the same, it can turn out that a person is downloading 50+pictures when reading the board in flat mode. It is quite easy to resize pictures using paintshop/photoshop or many other programs. It can be annoying to have to click on links to see the pics, but it gives people the choice. A person could end up downloading the same pictures up to ten times, to view the next reply to the thread. So I do agree with Sysiyo it can be frustrating.
There are three options in summary; 1. Resize the pictures to fit the screen (which is a must as it is so annoying when you have to scroll back and for to read the posts.
2. Limit the amount of pictures you place in one message.
3. Give links instead of hosting the pictures directly if the pictures are big.
I think another thing which should be mentioned is attachments, these are discouraged as they eat into server space, and attachments should never then be hotlinked into threads. This is true is it not Sysiyo?
I like a good picture thread, but etiquette should be adhered to for the common good.
A wrong assumption of myself on the part of you.
What I don't understand is why are you stupid?
