I don't think it's where he lives that's made him lazy artistically,(not that we have any proof of him being lazy that is). It's probably more to do with going on 60, creating some of the most powerful sound and vision ever, and riding a particularly vibrant slice of life for many years. What is left for this man to prove to anybody. Crappy artwork or re-releases will not even register on his radar. Hopefully he will slow down with grace, I would hate to see him doing a Sinatra in Vegas. A quiet Scott Walker type of career, with a few more releases would make me happy. The occasional gig outside of New York, no longer singing the obvious would be nice too. Surprise us one more David, back to the outside where you belong. I loved his performances with Arcade Fire, some more of that would be nice. An original tune, or album with Arcade Fire would be great. Just no more greatest hits tours. Of course I'll go and see him whatever path he chooses.
