I must say I thought The Drift was pretty much rubbish, at least on initial listening. It is the kind of album you get when people who have made experimental noise-ish music in the past decide that they must continue on the same path but make it even more noisey and remove the last vestiges of "music" as it is traditionally understood. The result is, at least for me, to far outside to be really enjoyed (I can appriciate it from a theoretical point of view but in practice I would have preferred as slightly more "traditional" album).
