Don't know if they were deliberately trying to sound clunky, but I wonder if Bowie and Buretti seriously thought those songs were going to have any kind of success. Personally, they're interesting to listen to as bonus tracks, but don't amount to much on their own. "Man in the Middle" isn't half-bad though.
