I used to be one disturbed kid with an unhealthy Freddie Mercury obsession but i'll have to agree with you to some extent. There are only handful of Queen albums that had the concistensy required for a classic if you ask me (Queen 2 being the most brilliant one). I blame it on Roger Taylor most of the time. The guy was able to ceate brilliant songs from time to time (Drowse being one of my all time favorite Queen songs) but i'm still quite certain that it was his output that dragged down the albums from brilliance. Curiously his solo career has been quite interesting and much better than what Brian and Freddie were able to come up with outside the band.
