It seems to be on a regular basis young posters around here will start a routine topic inquireing as to what Bowie thinks about the increasingly irrelevant Marilyn Manson, considering the later's well known idolization of him. And though no one can find a direct quote from Bowie on Manson, we all seem to end up with the impression he doesn't much care for Manson's act. So, this bit of news turns things upside down abit.
In a short interview with Rolling Stone, Manson is asked, "What's the last great rock show you saw?" He replies he just saw Bowie perform for the first time a few months ago and "I was really afraid, because he asked to meet me." That's certainly a suprise. Has anyone else heard more about this? All Manson goes on to say about the encounter is that "he made a snappy comment about my outfit, and I felt like a little schoolboy."
Before the 700 word interview is out Manson kisses bowie's ass again and says he should be made King. Nothing new there.
Why bother with witty phrases, you know this is a link.
