No, I don't think it was a stupid comparison ; it delievers my point perfectly.
If Alabama Song is supposed to sound horrible, then I will admit ; it is horrible. Just because it is supposed to sound horrible, doesn't make me like it.
Maybe the original musical version or whatever (opera?) would work sounding like retards, because the play actually has retards singing it, I don't know. What I do know, is without hearing the original and seeing the original play-thing, Bowie's version does not work out of context.
