"a curois document of the Serious Moonlight tour's Far Eastern dates in demenber 1983. Ricochet affects to be a fly-on-the-wall glimpse of David Bpwoe at work and play in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok -- but parts of the film are blatantly scripted. Bowie is protrayed as an outsider, slipping away from the pressures of his schedule to wander abrouad and soak up the exotic cultures of the three cities. -- One is reminded here of his Berlin period, a feeling pushed home by the use of two instrumentals from "Heroes" as incidental music. More rewarding is the concert footage of Look Back In Anger, Heroes and Fame (but -- not Ricochet). Although dark, grainy and shot with none of the high-gloss technique of David Mallet's Serious Moonlight video, these live cuts are excellent, intense versions which often have the edge on the Vancouver recordings."
