No, it´s "How I Made You Love Me" not "duett". the lyrics is "The cold became my friend/ My excuse to hide again/ In the music and Ziggy became my brother" and after that "You are the music and Ziggy he understood/ That I who was always speechless, needed words/I who hesitated, I who never could believe" Hope you bye som Kent cd, because they are really good

Alys: They have a song called "Om Gyllene Ĺr" (About Golden Years). It's a b-side I think. The lyrics are: "I hate it when I’m sober and I love it when I’m drunk. Everything is deadly, you get cancer in the sun. I hear his voice and it is cigarettes and tears. He is the thin, white duke singing about golden years" pretty cool I think :) Hope I didn't "steal" the answer from Sofia :)

Hi! Bowie is really one of the best in music history. In sweden we have a big band named "kent", they are very big i sweden and they also love bowie. You can see it in their texts. They sings about the white duke singing about golden years, how ziggy stardus became their best friend... They helped me to see bowie, thanks for that! Keep on rokin´dudes!

I just wanted to wish David Bowie a beautiful day on his 40th birthday (oh well, you're just as young as you look and as you feel). The first album I bought from David was about 23 years ago, and I have loved him and his music ever since. I absolutely love his music (well, some songs maybe a bit less..:), and I love and respect him as a person. Having read and heard so many interviews over the years, I think he's one of the most intelligent musicians I know, and one of the sexiest men alive. To David : "Daivd, I hope you and your family and friends have a wonderful time on your birthdaay. And I also wish you all the best for the new year : lots of inspiration, love, good health, and being surrounded by the people that you love, and who really care about you. Love, Heidi, Belgium

The alt.country public radio station in NYC (see www.wfuv.org) usually pulls out something unusual in its set of cover songs at noon in celebration of the birthday. Today's set was TMWSTW twice, first by Richard Barone, and then by Nirvana; then the station's favorite cover (and one of my nonfaves), Ricky Lee Jones' "Rebel Rebel"; Shawn Mullins' "Changes" from the Faculty soundtrack, and ending with one I hadn't heard or heard of, a Texas band called The Gourds, doing Ziggy. The Gourds cover, we were informed, was originally on an EP called "Go Get Your Shine Box," which was developed into a full length LP, "Shine Box." The listing for the album on Amazon has an audio stream available of at least part of the very unusual version. You probably wouldn't want to buy it, but you'd surely want to hear it. :-)

Make that 8 artists with five nominations apiece. I think last year India.Arie was tied for the most nominations with seven, but didn't win any. The hell with Norah, it's Eminem's year. :-)

Bowie got nominated for Slowburn in the the best male rock vocal category, a very long shot, obviously. Springsteen has got to be a heavy favorite in the category for "The Rising," simply because he faces stiffer competition in the other categories he's in. It was great to see "45" by Elvis Costello nominated; IMHO "When I Was Cruel" is way long and overrated, but that song is one of the year's best singles. Peter Gabriel's "Barry Williams Show" and Robert Plant's "Darkness, Darkness" round out the category, and their odds are probably down around Bowie's, maybe worse. Bruce in a walk. If the voting was today, Norah Jones probably would do the best, but as I got it, there are quite a few artists--Bruce, Norah, Avril, Eminem, Ashanti, maybe someone else--with five nominations.
