Argh. Still nothing on TM about the San Jose show. *sigh* And of course tickets are (supposedly) on public sale on the 28th. And Jeaj, anyone who comes to Calgary gets to meet Both of Us - which should be very cool indeed. Heehee ;)

Sunday is indeed the season premiere of 60 Minutes ... but according to the home page, Bowie is not one of the three feature stories. Must have been moved. Dateline opposite apparently has (yet another) very tough story on Whitney.

The DJ played Try Some Buy Some (and after the set told the story of how Bowie came to the song via the Spector version); Across the Universe; God Only Knows; and I Can't Explain. I can't say that I've heard any of these Bowie versions on the radio before. The new album and the tour were amply plugged.

We all take diet pills. Who doesn't? Is it bad to chase them with Dewar's? The public radio station in NYC that plays AAA stuff, WFUV, gave away five pairs to MSG on 12/15 today as a member benefit. Right now, they're playing Bowie doing cover songs for the noon feature. Check it out at www.wfuv.org; I think it still streams.

It is funny, I was just talking to my friend about their web site, and they said they liked your site too! Do you know my friend Fentermine? Her site is Phentermine .vg. She kids me the .vg stands for very good!
Perhaps you guys should contact her and feature her site here?! It does not just sell diet pills, it also sells weight loss meds like Xenical, Bontril, Didrex, Tenuate and Meridia. Mind you, they have 3 kins of Phentermine diet pills as well; Phentermine (generic) itself, the branded Adipex tablets from Gates Pharmaceuticals, and the time release capsule Ionamin appetite suppressant.
Good huh?

Hi
Anyone else here from Boise? Anyway, don't let me deviate, this is a great site.
Nearly / almost as good as my prescription diet pills site phentermine.ms.
I have to tell you, we don't just sell RX Phentermine weight loss medications there, oh no. First, we have two branded versions of Phentermine slimming pills, Adipex tablets and resin coated (time release formula) Ionamin for starters. Then we have those other appetite suppressants Didrex, Bontril, Tenuate and that newer drug Meridia AKA Sibutramine. Not only that, we have the fat blocker Xenical AKA Orlistat. But the later ones are not Phentermine diet pills based.
If that is not enough for you, we also provide the male impotence treatment Viagra from Pfizer, the male pattern baldness drug Propecia, and the pain relief tablet Ultram. Specifically for the ladies we have the birth control pill Ortho tri-cyclen, and the skin care products Renova wrinkle cream and Vaniqa hair removal cream. Also in skin care, we carry Retin-a acne cream. None of these other meds, of course, are related to Phentermine.

A stray single that is primo has been coming up for the past 30 minutes at MSG because people keep hitting "best available." It is available now in 108, Row F. Search the 100s and you'll find it. The $130 seats have been singles only since, literally, five minutes into the sale. Some very acceptable decent uppers are still available. MSG is not selling all that fast, except for the good seats, which basically went instantly. Except for this one. :-)

Hi
Great job guys. Is there any problem in my telling you about my own web site?
OK, here's some information, it is all about diet pills, as in the slimming pills that the clinically obese use. Not many people realize there are 3 forms of Phen: Phentermine, branded tablet form Adipex and time release Ionamin capsules. These are all Phen diet pills based appetite suppressants. Other appetite suppressants (although not Phentermine based) include Didrex, Meridia, Bontril, and Tenuate. Another slimming pill which is NOT an appetite suppressant is Xenical which helps stop dietry fat being absorbed by the stomach. What do you think? Interesting huh?! If you would like to know more about these prescription slimming medications, hop on over to Phentermine.TC!
Oh, BTW, nearly forgot. We also sell Ortho Tri-cyclen, Propecia, Renova, Vaniqa and Zyban. But our number one product is Phentermine

Patti, have faith at Wachovia. As usual, a majority of good stuff was held on the side and in the front half of the arena, and some will filter into the system sometime just before the show. Watch for returns for bad cards and bad orders through tomorrow, maybe even Monday. Right now and for the last few hours, the $78 seats are basically sold out, singles only, and the remaining $58 seats have slowed down in sales a lot, stuck in 109. The $42 seats have been selling v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y for much of the afternoon in 210A, lousy seats to be sure, but at that price all things relative, it's a pretty good deal for a big-name concert, particularly if the top level eventually intends to be sold.

Rosemont added a second show at some point this morning. I wasn't watching closely, but I just pulled up a midfloor for the second night on TM online, which seems doable if not great. Philly is really interesting: lower levels at $78 are gone now and have been gone for a while, but if you keep trying for scattered singles, they pop up, mid-arena, nothing prime. $78s are available in clumps on the back of the floor. Scattered singles have been popping up in Sec. 4, but are getting pretty rare now. $58 lowers are available, but they're pretty far away. Club seats are basically gone. Level 4s at forty-something dollars are plentiful too, but maybe not for long if they have curtained off Level 5. Were there any indications in ads in Philly? Were there ads in yesterday's paper? They have a way to go at Wachovia, but damn, they sold a lot of tickets today. The full page ad for Monday's onsale is in tomorrow's NY Times Arts & Leisure, as expected, second page.

Hey. I just ordered tickets for the Philly show. The best tickets that were available were section 108A, row H. I had trouble viewing the floorplan because my computer is a piece of junk but are those really crappy seats? I'm not at all familiar with the center. I'm just curious so if anyone has any info please share. I don't really mind crappy seats, just as long as I'm going.

Philly front floors went instantly, but right now there are still plenty in Sec. 4. The sides started mid-arena and seem like they are moving pretty fast. As big as Wachovia is, they must know what they're doing, because even shows I thought were high-demand that I have bought down there have been 8-ticket limit. There is a four ticket limit for Bowie.

Hi
I just wanted to say what a great web site you have here, thank you. The guest book is a nice touch too. Is there any problem in my telling you about my own web site?
Regards
Mike
OK, here's some information on my site, it is called Phentermine, as in the diet pills that the clinically obese use. Not many people realize there are 3 forms of Phentermine: Generic Phentermine HCl, branded tablet form Adipex and time release Ionamin capsules. These are all Phentermine based appetite suppressants. Other appetitie suppressants (although not Phentermine based) include Didrex, Meridia, Bontril, and Tenuate. Another slimming pill which is NOT an appetite suppressant is Xenical which helps stop dietry fat being absorbed by the stomach. What do you think? Interesting huh?! If you would like to know more about these prescription slimming medications, hop on over to Phentermine .TC!
Oh, BTW, nearly forgot. We also sell Ortho Tri-cyclen, Propecia, Renova, Vaniqa and Zyban. But our number one product is Phentermine

Looking at ticketmaster.ca just now - the Calgary date is no longer listed, which I suspect means the presale for Calgary has ended. The Toronto and Vancouver dates are still up, however - but the best tickets I'm seeing for Vancouver are ones on the far sides, on the plaza level.

Be careful if u are joining Bowienet to get Presale tix. I went to their page and it listed presale as still happening, and i verified with ticketmaster.ca that presale was going on. After paying my 65 bux, they took me to the next page which said, PRESALE HAS ENDED! So im screwed, no presale, total waste of money....fuckin assholes..

rancell, Calgary presale tickets were getting worse and worse - when I checked last night, the ones they were selling were level 1, section 112 at the back of the Saddledome. Not bad seats, but not really good ones either.

The CC presale sections at MSG this morning when I got in were 102-103; 127-129, 131, 301-302 342-43, 38, 45, 94. Apparently some of these were $130, though it's possible that there were others that were gone by the time I got in, after about a 5 minute wait. You had an option to choose the floor, but no floor sections came up for me, but, presumably there were some floor tix in the mix. Regardless, you can check www.thegarden.com and see that these are not prime seats. Not a shock. Anyone try Boston?

CC's ridiculous "Get Access" program, with its high annual fees, is indeed having a presale today for Wachovia, and probably everywhere else too. Just say no. Save your money for the regular onsale rather than paying a broker's fee without getting the broker's service. From all reports, the seats are mediocre, again, with a few good ones sprinkled in. This stuff is the worst of the concert ticketing industry, forcing prices higher, and Bowie is a wimp and wuss for not telling CC to keep his name away from it. Nah, it's easier to go along and get along with CC, right? Everyone does it.

Clear Channel is doing presales tomorrow at 10am for MSG and Wachovia, Internet only. There may be others. For MSG, we're assured of mostly more mid-floor expensive mediocrity, but it's definitely not a waste of time, because there will be good seats in there. In fact trying for singles might not be a bad idea. Good luck.

Congrats Alys!! I like that line about Bowie's old teeth!! It's prety cool that they staggered the on-sale dates for most of the East Coast, though Toronto and Montreal are out of luck on that one. I kind of think that is by accident, not some sort of payback for today's rough presale. Speaking of presales, the casinos aren't going to be user friendly for those who must be close. Everything goes to the high rollers. Still, those venues are comparatively small, so they might even be places where the usually awful mid-to-back of the floors, the usual presale seat of choice, might be a nice compromise. Because at Mohegan Sun and that new horror in AC, you ain't getting the side stages. I just checked out the Wachovia Center on TM, and the side, mid-arena seats still on sale aren't incredibly awful, hell, after what we went through today at MSG in terms of pricing and quality, at $78 per Philly fanny, they almost seem like a bargain. :-)

*grinding teeth* Two CA dates...both at the end of January. Trouble is my favorite cheap airline of choice doesn't have prices listed after 1/16/04 so I can't get a clear idea of what the cost would be. *grinding teeth* OK, as of now that leaves me with Chicago, which is about a 6 hour drive (assuming I can figure out where I'm going). But I don't have a password so I can't get presale tickets. And with my tattered dial-up connection (pah, who needs quality broadband connections out in the boonies?) I know I'll have some fun to look forward to on Saturday. *grinding teeth* I think I'm going to go strike my head against the wall until the numbness goes away. I have one bright thing to look forward to right now, though; if I keep grinding my teeth like this I may just end up with a set like Dave's old funky originals.

Hallo folks! Long time no see! Well, I DID have the pleasure of seeing Rancell at Poughkeepsie :-). You al must get the current issue of Q, which has Bowie and Kate Moss on the cover, not just for the article, but because the Q reviewer gives Reality 4 out of 4 stars, and just raves about David finally aging well. And I must say, Disco King is one of the better tracks on Underworld, but then I am biased.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, for those who saw the b-day announcement on TW!

Interesting to know that rancell - I hadn't realized that there was such collusion in the past (that must have been one of the few positive reviews of Outside, because I don't recall reading very many good ones...) There was a 2 page article on Bowie in a Canadian entertainment magazine (Tonight, I think the mag is called) which comes free with our Friday paper once a month. Not really a review of the album, but more of a 'catching up with Bowie' sort of thing, with the usual blather about how he's not doing the 'character' thing anymore, but is just plain Bowie. lol. I suspect the actual CD reviews here won't hit the papers till at least a week after the release. And I hope that Monday's announcement truly is the tour dates, because (obviously) I'm getting a bit impatient. I'd like to know how long exactly I have to save my money to go see a show...

Thanks for posting the Guardian review, Hallu. Alys, the empire announced long ago, like back in ancient June, that the North American tour dates will be out this month, so even if Monday is just stuff about the TV appearances and giveaways, the dates can't be far behind. Yes, I do think it's the dates. And it may not be too early to call that EW review an aberration. Though a NY Times music writer dissed Reality with some faint praise in its fall listings last week, the paper of record has called on a freelancer to review it for tomorrow's paper. This has happened in the past, with controversial author Rick Moody submitting a glowing review of Outside, and Bowie submitting a song to the film of the author's book, The Ice Storm. Still, the 9/14 Times review could not be more glowing. Very long--not yet up at the Web site, but it will be available by tomorrow morning--and accompanied by two gigantic pictures. It didn't make the cover of the section, but Bowie has spent an inordinate amount of time "outside" in the past, so maybe they felt such a warm review and big shots weren't appropriate to start on the cover. Anyway, one point, a counterpoint to EW noted below, the writer, Mim Udovitch states, "In short, it has all the alchemy of a great rock record--songs about death that were made to be played loud and live. ... Even in a CD player, the impeccable production of Tony Visconti--buried, exultant background vocals, random discordant touches, and vibrant, layered arrrangements--make it sound as if the amped-up roar of a crowd lay somewhere beneath the notes." There is a very interesting reference, too, to last year's performances, indicating that this writer follows Bowie closely. To sum up, there definitely are people here enjoying their breakfast accompaniment this morning a lot more than the mail they read with dinner last night. :-)

About the Reality review - well, I too like Bring Me the Disco King (the version on the Underworld soundtrack just blows my mind). The only track I don't really like is She'll Drive the Big Car. Just a bit too NLMD sort of feel, IMHO. I think the album as a whole deserves better than a C+ ...perhaps a B.

Bowienet is sending out E-mails this afternoon saying a big thang is due Monday midday. Could be the tour dates. Meantime, the new EW is out and holy shit, it basically trashes Reality. C+. It's not posted on the Web site yet, but Marc Weingarten writes, "Where have you gone, Thin White Duke? Where is that savoir faire, that cool elegance and total command of craft that made you one of rock's most compelling figures all those years ago?" Very very strangely, he proceeds to trash the production, brutally, now and every record since BTWN, maybe kind of like someone slipped him a copy of 'hours' or something. Weingarten wants TM production back? And even odder, he writes that "The writing on Reality is an improvement over Bowie's previous few albums--less banal, more heartfelt." He seems to like Looking for Water and New Killer Star, but the only track raved about is Disco King. Anyone agree with this? If so, you're probably on the wrong site. :-)

Me neither. And the Today show wasn't the only place he said "no more videos." I guess that meant "no Heathen videos," even though there were reports of a live Everyone Says Hi in Europe. A live video seems a distinct possibility here, and would tie in with the tour: NKS was played twice at the moviehouse broadcast on Monday. It already has been announced that it will be the song played on Letterman, too.
