The Artwork of David Bowie

Painting  |  Sculpture  |  Other

David Bowie not only writes music, he likes to paint and sculpt in his spare time. On this page, you can find links and pictures of some of his non-musical creations.

Sculpture

Masks 1996

A work donated to H.R.H. Prince's Trust for auction (sold for £1,200.). Prince Charles' representatives sent out plain white masks to over 1,000 celebrities. Bowie's mask (#56), by the self-described "Artist/Singer/Songwriter/Actor", was unpainted, with the following handwritten remark "Your pretty face is going to hell, Bo '96" on the reverse, and 666 stencilled on the forehead.

David exhibited a sculpture (which subsequently appeared in the artwork of the Earthling album) at the 1996 Florence Biennale Fashion Exhibition. Although it's been taken down, you can still visit it online.
