The script, by Montreal writer Joel Wyner, starts off with the funeral of Mr. Rice, best friend to his neighbor Owen Walters. Owen is in treatment for Hodgkin's disease and fears he'll be the next to die.
Their friendship is shown in a few quick flashbacks. Owen launches into a scavenger hunt that is Mr. Rice's posthumous legacy to him, a search for a potion that guarantees a full lifetime. It turns out that Mr. Rice has lived for 400 years on such potions.
The film is now (early 2000) being aired around the world at various children's film festivals, such as the German Children's Film Festival.
