- Directed by: D.A. Pennebaker
- Starring: David Bowie, Mick Ronson, Angie Bowie, Ringo Starr, hundreds of crazed fans
Described as unwatchable by Leonard Maltin, this documents Bowie's farewell concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, July 3, 1973.
Kept in the vault for over 10 years before finally being released in 1983 reportedly due to contract negotiations with Jeff Beck who appeared in the original concert, but was cut from the final release - apparently because he didn't like his guitar playing (or was it the clothes he wore?)
In any case, apart from the rare and hard to find 1980 Midnight Special, this is the easiest way for the more recent Bowie fan to find out what the Ziggy Stardust phenomenon was all about.
