Trivia
- This was the follow-up single to London Boys , which was
recorded on 26 January 1967 at the Decca Studios in West Hampstead. It should
have given David that elusive hit, but it failed.
- The 1973 rerelease was the ideal reactivation in that it detracted
considerably from the po-faced approach to pop which David's current success
in 1973 had engendered amongst his admirers. The Laughing Gnome sold
250,000 copies in the UK, reaching Number 6.
