Recent Comments: "You Got To Have A Job" was co-written by James Brown and his then saxman Jeff Watkins. It was first released in 1969 as a duet by James Brown and Marva Whitney who was a member of the James Brown revue singing backing vocals. A year after, in 1970, Brown's right-hand man Bobby Byrd recorded his own version. It is rarely mentionned but during the second half of the song, David got into another Brown's famous composition: "Hot Pants"!

Just a question for keeping things in order... who originally wrote/performed "I Gotta Get A Job"?
