Well, this is so cool... :) The CNE show was the first, and only Bowie concert I've seen. I remember being tremendously excited... I almost didn't get to go, but one of my older sister's friends decided at the last minute to give me her ticket.
I was all of thirteen at the time, but I had been into Bowie for about a year at that point. Ironically enough, I wasn't really into the "Let's Dance" album. The first album I bought, on the suggestion of another sister's boyfriend, was "Ziggy". So, while most people at the show were only familiar with the new album, I was full-on into the glam era. I remember a Canadian band by the name of Rough Trade opened, and lead vocalist Carol Pope seemed as excited about seeing Bowie as the audience. The highlight of the show, for me, was when Mick Ronson came onstage to play "Jean Genie" with David. I am not sure if many other fans in the audience knew who he was, but I was estatic. I still have my tour programme, albeit it is a bit beaten up, though I seem to have lost my ticket stubb over the years. It's hard to believe that it's been almost fifteen years since the show...
