| Your life story: | Grew up surrounded by Bowie. My Unlces seemed to be all Bowie fans, one of whom had a big Ziggy-era poster on his wall that scared the crap out of the me (well, I was only 4). Anyway, I think it was with Ashes to Ashes that my interests were really kindled. I bought the K-Tel Best of Bowie compilation and went back to discover the 70's albums, via my Uncles' very warped vinyl, whilst loyally buying the 80's albums and mocking my friends who were Adam & The Ants fans. First saw Bowie on the Glass Spider tour, which blew me away, but when I see it on video now I find it rather embarressing. I genuinely think that Tin Machine made some good music (i.e. I Can't Read, Bus Stop) and since Outside he's genuine class once more. I've been engrossed in music all my life, and now run the Official Blur fan service. Bowie fans should check out the following Blur tracks and play "spot the Bowie bit" - All Your Life; M.O.R.; Strange News From Another Star |
